Israeli killed in car accident in Thailand

While in his honeymoon with his wife Kesem, 25-year-old Yedidya Kellerman is killed by a passing motorcycle in Thailand; before embarking on their trip, couple writes on Facebook page, 'We are flying to see the world.'

Yedidya Kellerman, 25, a resident of Nof Ayalon was killed Thursday morning in a car accident in the town of Pai in northern Thailand.

 

 

Kellerman's wife Kesem was lightly wounded in the accident.

 

The couple had been married in July 2017 and embarked on their honeymoon in the Far East a month ago.

Yedidya and Kesem had begun their trip in Vietnam, continued to the Philippines and arrived in Thailand merely three days ago .

The newlyweds were hit by a passing motorcycle while riding the motorcycle they had rented earlier.

 

Yedidya was pronounced dead at the scene and Kesem was taken to receive medical attention.

 

"We are flying to see the world," the two wrote on their Facebook page before leaving Israel.

 

Several hours before the accident Yedidya replied, "August is only mean to children" to his brother's post "August was mean."

 

Yonatan, Yedidya's brother told Ynet that Yedidya "was a happy guy who loved living life to the fullest, he established a wonderful home together with Kesem."

"Everyone liked him everywhere he went and he was the center around which his friends and family gathered," Yonatan explained.

 

"After Yedidya and Kesem concluded their military service as officers in the IDF they went on a trip in the Far East, where unfortunately disaster struck," Yedidya's brother lamented.

Yedidya worked as a mortgage broker and a photographer.

 

He served as an officer in the Armored Corps' 401st battalion and fought in Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

 

Israel's consul in Bangkok aided transferring Kellerman's body for burial in Israel.
