Reports: Australia to recognize Jerusalem as capital
The Australian government is expected to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, according to reports in Australian media on Tuesday.
The Australian cabinet is to approve the decision on Tuesday, after the National Security Committee of Cabinet approved it on Monday.
Despite the decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital, Australia is not expected to move its embassy there from Tel Aviv, due to pressures and threats from Malaysia, Indonesia and other Muslim countries.
