The IDF Spokesmen’s unit announced on Wednesday that “IDF troops exposed an additional cross-border attack tunnel that was dug from the Shiite village of Ayta al-Shab and crossed into Israeli territory. A short while ago, the tunnel was neutralized by an explosion.”
The announcement also stated that the IDF notified the heads of the relevant local authorities and UNIFIL in advance.

“The IDF holds the Lebanese Government accountable for the attack tunnels dug from Lebanese territory and for the consequences of this violation. This is another blatant violation of UN Resolution 1701 and of Israeli sovereignty. The IDF continues its operational efforts to expose and neutralize the attack tunnels as planned,” it stated.
A few days ago, the IDF announced that the operation is entering the second stage and is focused on neutralizing the tunnels through various means, according to engineering and tactical considerations.
The IDF is operating only on the Israeli side of the frontier but their actions are presumed to neutralize the Lebanese section of the tunnels as well.
On Tuesday, Hezbollah posted photos of cement mixers brought by the IDF to seal the tunnels. They wrote that the IDF has already used 190 trucks of cement for the operation.
