Islamic Jihad to break away from Gaza faction's council
Islamic Jihad's military leadership in Gaza is threatening to step away from the Hamas led joint council of factions in the enclave which they say has not supported their fight against Israel, a Palestinian source tells Ynet.
Stepping away from the council will result in the group being unbound by the rules that police military activity in the Gaza Strip.
The source also said the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, based inside Gaza is at odds with the Damascus based political leadership under Secretary Genera Ziad al-Nakhala
