Canadian communities raise $40 mil for Israel's north
Magbit Canada, an association representing Jewish communities in the country, raised some 45 million Canadian dollars (US$40 million) for the northern communities in Israel which suffered during the Second Lebanon War.
The money was collected to aid the weaker communities, encourage settlement in the Galilee, and give equal opportunities for quality education in the periphery. (Hagai Einav)
