Shuni Amphitheater
Born Raymond Edward O'Sullivan in 1946, the singer and songwriter changed his name in 1967 at the suggestion of the recording company in the U.K. where he was contracted. It was a play on words of the Savoy opera composers Gilbert and Sullivan.
Dressed in short trousers and a flat, cloth cap with a pudding basin haircut, O'Sullivan has created an image of a schoolboy heart-throb. His most famous songs 'Alone Again (Naturally)' 'Clair' and 'Get Down' are anything but child-like with the lyrics deeply moving and thought-provoking. They were good enough to impress a leading British music magazine who voted him Number 1 male singer in the U.K. in 1972.
O'Sullivan has maintained a regular performing schedule in the 21st century. Audiences in Japan, in particular, have welcomed him with acclaim, despite an earlier legal wrangle some twenty years ago over performing rights of some of his songs.
The talented singer will be performing two concerts in Israel:
- May 22 at Shuni Amphitheater, located in Shuni Park, on the main road between Binyamina and Zichron Yaakov
- May 23 at the Tel Aviv Cultural Center.
