Illy canned coffee coming to Israel

Beverage to be launched by Coca Cola Israel in two new versions: Latte Macchiato and Cappuccino

Good news for coffee lovers: Coca Cola will soon be marketing Illy's flavored canned coffee in Israel. The beverage will be offered in 250ml cans in two versions: Latte Macchiato – coffee with milk, and Cappuccino – coffee with milk and cocoa.

The beverage was launched in 2008 in countries like Australia, the United States, Germany, Italy and Japan, and is now making aliyah to Israel.

The drink is made from a coffee extract which contains 100% natural coffee beans, without preservatives. It is expected to cost NIS 8-9 (about $2.36-2.65) per can.

The product line is a joint partnership of the Coca Cola Company and Italian coffee producer Illycaffè, which focuses on manufacturing and marketing cold coffee-flavored energy drinks.

The new beverage will be launched in Israel at a total investment of NIS 2 million ($590,000), and has received a kosher certificate from the Chief Rabbinate of Denmark and the approval of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

The drink will be marketed in convenience stores, kiosk and vending machines in military bases.

According to Gali Taub-Sarig, Coca Cola Israel's marketing manager, "The product's target audience is an audience which appreciates coffee and food of high quality, and is looking for an available solution for an indulging Italian espresso experience on the road, at work and at home."
