An AI-generated campaign to raise awareness about the hostages held by Hamas was launched on Sunday with testimony from 8-year-old Ela Elyakim and 12-year-old Eitan Yahalomi, two of the children who were abducted by Hamas on October 7 and freed in the first hostage release deal in November.
"The aim is to shock the world's leaders and citizens, including Israel's government," said "Remember" creator, Israeli media entrepreneur, Ofer Rosenbaum. "This is the moment of truth, life or death. All leaders, including those in Israel, must understand the outcome of failed negotiations for a deal.
"I remember the terrorists coming into our house, they grabbed my whole family. My dad was wounded after he was shot in the leg," Ella says on camera. "I was held hostage with my big sister. When they brought me into the home in Gaza I saw weapons and started to cry. I was afraid they were going to kill us."
Eitan described how he had been beaten by the crowds when he reached the Strip. "I passed many civilians who saw me and beat me," he said. "Most of the time I was held hostage by myself. A 12-year-old boy, alone in a locked room. The terrorists made me watch horror clips from the massacre on October 7. Stuff no one should see. If any of the kids who were abducted cried, the terrorists would scream at them to shut up, pointing his gun at them."
The campaign plans to post clips every few days, while negotiations continue, to echo the cry of the hostages, whose voices are not being heard. The clips will remain on a dedicated website.
