Social media turned orange on Thursday as Israelis mourned the return of the bodies of hostages Ariel and Kfir Bibas, their mother Shiri and Oded Lifshitz.
The young Bibas brothers, known for their distinctive red hair, became symbols of the October 7 Hamas attack, with widespread hopes they would be rescued alive.
As the bodies arrived in Israel following a staged Hamas "ceremony" in Gaza, Israelis lined the streets from the border to the National Center for Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv, where the remains were to be identified before burial.

Online, a wave of tributes spread under the color orange—representing the children's hair—signifying grief and solidarity.
The Bibas family had been one of the most recognized symbols of the hostage crisis. Their father, Yarden Bibas, who was abducted separately, was released earlier this month after nearly 500 days in captivity.
