Israeli tech entrepreneur Oren Dobronsky, who also appears as a “shark” in the Israeli version of the Shark Tank television show's panel of judges, wrote a post clarifying his position regarding the possible military operation in Rafah and the hostage situation.
Dobronsky has served in the past as the CEO and co-founder of Wondermall, an online shopping app for iPad devices, offering dozens of top-brand shops on a single platform. Before this position, he co-founded and served as the CEO of several other companies including Infolinks, SmartShopper.com, and more.
"Israel, the cabinet, the IDF, its commanders, and soldiers: all of the villains are trying everything so that we don't enter Rafah. From the 'useful idiots' students in U.S. universities, the flaccid American government that only wants to appease the Iranians at any cost, the Iranians and their proxies who don't want to lose their asset called Hamas, those who shout 'a deal now' (at any price), and up to the extremists among us who are willing to lose the war just not to give Bibi [Benjamin Netanyahu] credit, they all turn up the volume to the maximum to exert pressure not to enter Rafah," he wrote.
"And therefore, it’s so very clear that we must enter Rafah and eliminate Hamas at any cost. Will we succeed in killing all of the terrorists? Probably not. But we’ll kill very many, and this time from their layer of senior command as well."
According to him, "We owe this to the memory of all those murdered on October 7 and to the memory of all our holy soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the war so far. A stop will be a desecration of everything they sacrificed. 'I pursued my enemies and overtook them, and did not turn back till they were consumed.'"
Dobronsky reiterates his position regarding how the IDF should operate in Gaza in the post: "In addition to eliminating Hamas’s battalions, Rafah should look like the other areas we ‘cleared out’ in Gaza, absolute ruins.”
“The Gazans need to remember this war as their 'second Nakba’ and to burn into their collective consciousness the implications of what happens to those who butcher Jews, what happens when they choose an extremist terror organization like Hamas to rule. Here, see the good life of the Palestinians in the West Bank relative to your suffering in Rafah,” he added.
He called on IDF commanders: "Ignore the external background noises and act with the strongest force you’ve shown yet. Even stronger than in the other operations. Preserve the lives of our soldiers as much as possible. When you have a dilemma between risking our soldiers or the population in Gaza, there should be no second thoughts.
“The security of our soldiers comes first to everything. The Palestinian population shouldn’t be present in combat zones at all, and if they choose to stay there against orders, then it’s them who are committing suicide. When there’s an opportunity to carry out airstrikes, do so as much as possible!"
Near the end of the post, Dobronsky suggested: "to act as if we have no captives there." He explained this by saying, "It’s almost certain that they’re kept in tunnels as the most precious ace in the hole for the security of Hamas’s senior officials, so there should be no concern about hitting them above the surface."
He noted, "This war must be won at any cost and Hamas must be destroyed to the last of its commanders and soldiers, even at the risk that some of the hostages won’t return. There’s nothing that can be done. It's terribly painful, but that's how it is in war. Hamas’s defeat is the highest goal."
"In a seemingly paradoxical way, I believe our best chances to get the hostages back is through a ludicrous military operation that has no compromises. Hamas’s leaders will only engage in real negotiations for the return of the hostages when they feel the sword hovering above their necks. Until then, they’re playing with us."
