Israeli military manufacturer Elbit Systems announced on Monday that it has been awarded a contract worth an eye-popping $600 million to supply systems to Hanwha Defense Australia for the Australian Land 400 Phase 3 Project.

According to a statement, the project, which will span over five years, "aims to deliver advanced protection, fighting capabilities and sensors suite to the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) for the Australian Army."
The Redback integrates the Redback Turret which is based on the latest generation of Elbit Systems’ 30 mm manned turret with the COAPS gunner sight, additional electro-optic systems, Iron Fist active protection system, Elbit Systems’ Iron-Vision advanced situational awareness head-mounted display system and Elbit Systems’ ELAWS laser warning system.

"Elbit Systems is dedicated to supplying cutting-edge defense technologies that will safeguard troops on the modern battlefield.”
Elbit Systems had a record-breaking year in 2023, echoing the broader defense sector's surge in demand for weaponry following the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The company's order backlog hit an impressive $16.6 billion, indicating potential for even higher records in the coming year. Elbit's annual sales revenue for 2023 was around $5.5 billion.
Before winning the tender for the Australian Army, Elbit Systems secured a $300 million contract to supply a European client with systems for approximately 230 armored vehicles. These systems include weaponry, reconnaissance, driving and situational awareness technologies. The six-year contract covers customized design, manufacturing, product lifecycle maintenance and extensive support within the client's country.
