Jolie and Pitt still spar over kids

Hollywood star's confidants say actress takes joint son Knox to a Los Angeles ceremony to 'get under father's skin'; divorced couple's legal battle set to continue in 2025

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Knox, 16, attended the Governors Awards ceremony in Los Angeles with his mother last week in his first public appearance in years. However, sources close to Pitt said his presence was made to vex him following the couple’s divorce and battle for custody of their shared children.
“Brad only gets to see his children when they walk on the carpet with their mom and the timing of this could not be any more suspicious considering it was just decided that he and Angie are headed to trial,” an insider told the Daily Mail.

According to reports, the seemingly endless legal battle between Pitt and Jolie over their French winery is expected to continue into early 2025. The two have been embroiled in this dispute for years without reaching a resolution. Recently, Jolie requested the court dismiss Pitt's claims against her but the judge rejected her motion.
Sources close to Pitt have repeatedly accused Jolie of driving a wedge between him and their children, allegedly using them to retaliate against him. These insiders claim Jolie’s actions, including a recent outing with their son Knox, are part of this dynamic.
“She is trying to get under his skin after his recent win and using Knox to do so is odd. Knox wants nothing to do with Hollywood and has no communication with Brad,” said one source close to Pitt.
The same source added, “Of course, it bothers him that Angelina has turned them against him. She did this while they were all young and they didn’t even get a chance to make up their minds about him. He believes that, in time, his children will come back into his life.”

In contrast, a source close to Jolie dismissed the allegations, insisting that Knox attended the event with his mother voluntarily. “Knox chose to attend the awards with his mom, and they had a nice mother-son evening. Their decision to attend together did not have anything to do with Brad.”
However, it seems the couple’s children have distanced themselves from their father, whether encouraged by Jolie or by their own choice. Earlier this year, it was reported that their daughters, Vivienne, Shiloh and Zahara, removed Pitt’s surname from their own and opted to retain only Jolie’s name.
The tenuous relationship isn’t new. Several years ago, their son Pax publicly expressed his disdain for Pitt in a scathing Father’s Day post, writing, “Happy Father’s Day to this world class a–hole!! You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person. You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence.”

The former couple split in 2016 and have been locked in legal battles ever since. In October 2022, Jolie accused Pitt of physical violence against her and their children. She alleged that during a 2016 family flight a heated argument escalated and Pitt slapped one of their children.
When Jolie intervened, he reportedly shoved her, slammed her into the plane’s wall and pulled her hair. Jolie claimed the incident left her with injuries to her back and elbow while their children were left crying and traumatized. Five days later, she decided to file for divorce.
