The series will be co-written by Edelson, alongside acclaimed screenwriters Ron Leshem (Euphoria, HBO) and Amit Cohen (No Man’s Land, False Flag, Hulu), in an Israeli-German co-production.
Based on Edelson’s first-hand account, the series will depict the harrowing events that unfolded during the catastrophic avalanche on the Annapurna Circuit, one of the world's most scenic trekking routes. The tragedy saw hundreds of hikers, including entire families, trapped in life-threatening conditions.

The show will explore the life-and-death decisions, moral dilemmas and moments of heroism that defined the disaster, as survivors battled to save lives amidst the unforgiving environment. "This incredible story weaves together courage, death, resilience, love, and the instinct to survive against all odds," said ZDF's director of Drama, Yuliya Fischer.
"It’s a drama that will both tug at the heartstrings and celebrate the bravery and resourcefulness of those who defied the elements."
