In recent years, TikTok has become an inexhaustible source of trends. If last year people flocked to supermarkets and candy stores to buy Fruit Roll-Ups or PRIME energy drinks, then the latest culinary trend leaves us at home, assembling colorful food trays of a single different color each.

The concept is quite simple, you invite guests to a party, with each of them responsible for bringing food of a different color. In the videos, the arriving guests display a meal of monochromatic abundance they have prepared.
The color scale is varied and inspires creativity. A green tray can be loaded with greens such as broccoli and spinach pie or even a drink that comes in a green glass bottle next to it. A yellow tray can consist of cheeses, corn, Doritos and Bamba. There is no limit to people's imagination, thanks to industrial food for its contribution to the blue and purple trays.
The guests would also dress according to the colors of their trays. The trend even received an Iron Swords War version, including black hamburgers to mark the October 7 attack and of course a green tray in honor of the IDF. The trend did not pass over IDF bases and soldiers who became the leading cultural agents.
Although the trend, like many others and before it, came from abroad, it is easy to understand why it captured the Israelis. It is suitable for the times, a time of gatherings at home with family or friends instead of going out to luxurious restaurants. Perhaps the trend looks good on TikTok, but we're not sure that this is what the dietitians meant when they recommended eating vegetables and fruits of five different colors.
