Israel’s Genesis Music Festival, which was originally scheduled to take place from September 19-21 at the foot of Mount Gilboa, released a statement on Wednesday saying it has been postponed to next year and is now set to take place from May 22-24, 2025.
"It’s with a heavy heart, that we’re forced to announce another postponement of the Genesis Music Festival which was planned to take place in about two weeks," the event organizers said.
"In recent days, we’ve held situation assessments with the police and security forces, and potential threat scenarios were presented due to the escalating situation in the north and the West Bank that could pose a significant security risk to the festival-goers, as the event was set to be held near the West Bank security fence. Therefore, it was decided to postpone the event. We hope for calmer days and look forward to seeing you all at the next Genesis Music Festival,” the statement added.
This marks the second time the festival has been postponed after it was initially supposed to take place in May 2024. According to the festival organizers, all ticket holders have been notified of the option to receive a refund or convert their tickets for the new festival dates.
