Sunday morning marked the beginning of Noa Kirel's journey to the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, as she boarded a direct flight to Liverpool, where the much-awaited competition is scheduled to commence next week.
"I have to admit, I never expected to feel this level of excitement. It's an enormous honor to be chosen to represent our country," she exclaimed during the press conference held at the foot of the plane.
"To share my song with the world and to feel the overwhelming love and support from my fans is truly a dream come true. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents and of course, all of you."
She also urged viewers to help spread the word about "Unicorn" throughout Europe, stating, "We all know the power of networks in Eurovision, so let's get the song out there!"
In just a matter of days, the spotlight will shine on the 22-year-old songstress as she takes the stage to represent Israel in the highly anticipated European singing competition.
With her powerful vocals and captivating stage presence, she will be performing her hit song "Unicorn" and competing in the semi-finals on May 9, striving towards a spot in the final, scheduled for May 13.
The direct flight to Liverpool on board a Boeing 737 is carrying a group of 60 people. The lucky few include 30 members of the Israeli delegation, along with 30 other passengers who won the coveted lottery opened months ago.
As this is no ordinary flight, it comes equipped with exclusive Unicorn-themed merchandise, such as branded airline cups and pillows, delightful cupcakes adorned with the mythical creature, and even pink cocktail bottles, all adding to the excitement of what's to come.
With Ukraine unable to host the competition due to the ongoing war with Russia, the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be held in Great Britain this year.
Adding to the excitement of the event, 2019 Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai will make an appearance in the grand finale as a guest artist. Other guests include last year's winner, the Kalush Orchestra band from Ukraine, as well as Mahmood ("Soldi"), Duncan Lawrence ("Arcade"), Cornelia Jacobs, and notable former contestants.
