The event will take place in the presence of Foreign Minister Israel Katz, who will lead the Israeli delegation to what is expected to be the country's key official event on the world stage.
The ceremony will be attended by families of hostages currently held by Hamas in Gaza, relatives of terror victims, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield, and diplomats from various countries. Prominent figures from the Jewish community in the U.S. are also expected to participate.
Simultaneously, the Foreign Ministry will hold memorial events at Israeli embassies around the world, marking the one-year anniversary of last year's deadly Hamas terrorist attack.
