Fauda star Idan Amedi stars in first campaign since Gaza injury

After being seriously wounded in fighting, Israeli actor/singer set to appear in new campaign aiming to bolster morale and unity in Israeli society

Israeli singer Idan Amadi, who was seriously injured in the Gaza Strip back in January while serving in the reserves, took part in shooting a new campaign by Israel’s national lottery Mifal HaPais’s fund for the rehabilitation of Israeli community and society in the country.
"Many companies approached me with campaign offers two months after the injury. On the surface, it's a legitimate part of a 'famous person's' life," Amadi shared on set. "The main difference was that we held meetings about these offers in a hospital room between treatments.

“Something about this dissonance, the sharp transition between the daily, grueling rehabilitation process and the glamour that comes with a commercial campaign, made me think about what the right thing to do at this stage was. We can only weather the storm we are in right now together. Only with love for this country and its people, because they’re our brothers and sisters, and we’re obligated to give back to them."
Amadi underwent a physiotherapy session on set just before filming — as part of his rehabilitation routine over the past few months. On Tuesday, he shared a clip from the hospital where he was seen taking a few steps and wrote, "Reminding myself that everything is a miracle. Nothing in this life should be taken for granted.”

“Returning to play music, watching soccer with friends, taking my daughter to her swimming lessons, laughing, crying, missing those who are no longer here. Nothing is to be taken for granted in this life. Even if sometimes I forget," he added.
