A month after she participated in the King's official birthday celebrations at the Trooping the Color events and in the shadow of her battle with cancer, Kate, Britain's Princess of Wales, was greeted with a standing ovation at the Wimbledon tennis championships. The Princess of Wales arrived on Sunday at the Wimbledon men's final held between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
She was accompanied by her daughter Princess Charlotte, 9, and wore a bright purple dress by the Safiyaa designer label and looked in great spirits as she chatted with other actresses and also joked with her daughter, who wore a blue polka dot dress with her hair half-up in a matching blue bow. The two were joined by Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton, who wore a floral dress.
Kate's husband Prince William did not come to the game, apparently because he is expected to cheer on England's national team Sunday night in the Euro finals together with his 10-year-old son Prince George.
Princess Kate is a well-known sports fan and every year makes sure to come to the Wimbledon tournament. Earlier this week, the princess dedicated a post to the amazing career of Andy Murray, who had to pull out of Wimbledon last week.
"An amazing Wimbledon career is coming to an end. You should be so proud," she wrote, adding: "Thank you, on behalf of all of us."
