During the visit, Douglas met with Yuli Ben Ami, the daughter of Raz Ben Ami who returned from Hamas captivity as part of a temporary cease-fire in November, and Ohad Ben Ami, who has been held hostage in Gaza for 240 days.
Yuli showed the actor a video of her mother's abduction, taken from her home in Gaza and released after 54 days.

"I met people here who believed in peace, who hosted their Palestinian neighbors in their homes. Now, I wonder how one recovers from such an event. It will take generations—if at all. How does one overcome the desire for revenge? I have no idea," Douglas remarked.
