The event also marked the opening of "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" and eponymous exhibition named after the late German fashion designer who was a regular at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. The exhibition, which will be on display for a short period of time only (closing on July 16), is one of the few dedicated to fashion designers rather than to a phenomenon or style in fashion.
