Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also known as the princess of Dubai, announced her divorce from her husband, Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
"Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce," wrote the 30-year-old princess. "I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You. Take care. Your ex-wife."

Her husband has yet to respond publicly to the post. Concerned followers speculated about infidelity and the implications of the divorce, with one asking, "Did he cheat on her?" and another inquiring, "Isn't the divorce supposed to be initiated by the husband, and will you have to move abroad?"
Many comments from women supported Mahra’s decision. "It's amazing when a woman recognizes her worth and stands confidently for herself," responded social media personality @martahamedofficial, who has 413,000 followers.

A review of Mahra and Mohammed's Instagram accounts revealed that they have unfollowed each other and removed all shared posts.
Mahra and Mohammed were married in May 2023 in a lavish ceremony and welcomed their first daughter last May. There has been no response from Mohammed regarding the separation.
