After it seemed that the fourth season of the Israeli action-thriller series 'Fauda' would be its last, Israeli broadcast provider YES and the series’ production team have reached an agreement for making another season, making it the series’ fifth.

Over the past few months, since the conclusion of the fourth season, the parties have held discussions and negotiations to reach an agreement for making another season of the series, and are now on their way to finalizing the deal. While the contract hasn’t been officially signed yet, both parties have unofficially confirmed that a new season of the hit series is in the works.
"We wrote the fourth season of 'Fauda' to be its last one," Israeli actor and series star Lior Raz said in an interview. "Now we want another season," he added, addressing his and his series partner Avi Issacharoff’s desire to continue writing more of the series.
It's still not clear what the new season’s exact storyline will be or which of the series’ cast members will be returning, but both sides are very interested in producing another season, and an official announcement will be made once a final agreement is reached between the sides.
YES has declined to confirm the news.
