Earlier this week, one of the greatest tennis players of all time Novak Djokovic landed in Israel to play the 2022 Tel Aviv Open and judging by his choice of lodging in the Holy Land, the Serbian superstar really has a flair for the good life and a love of glamor.
Djokovic, who is currently ranked seventh in the world, is staying in the presidential suite of the luxurious Royal Beach Hotel on Tel Aviv's Yarkon Street.
His seventh-floor Sea One suite spans over 89 square meters (about 960 square feet and likely bigger than your average Tel Aviv apartment) and features a massive panoramic balcony overlooking the Mediterranean and Jaffa’s Old City.
The room also includes a dining corner, work corner, sofa bed, double bathrooms, and a bathroom with a shower and bath. The guest also will also receive free admission to the spa complex and free access to the establishment’s fancy business lounge, a perk this specific guest will likely forgo, on top of free valet parking.
The extravagant suite is priced at NIS 7,867 ($2,200) per night.
Hotel staff also received in advance a list of special requests to accommodate Djokovic's vegan diet, like placing a refrigerator in his room for his specialized food and health drinks.
The hotel staff shares that Djokovic’s dietary requests included almond drinks without added sugar, avocado oil, dates, gluten-free bread, kale leaves, a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, spinach, unsalted and unroasted nuts, coconut water and mint.
Dining at the hotel’s West Side Restaurant, Djokovic ordered a veggie burger, quinoa, soup, steamed vegetables, fresh vegetables, gluten-free pizza and sugar-free dessert.
In addition, the hotel staff was asked to place a therapy table in the tennis player’s room for his massage therapist who came to accompany him on the visit.
