A day after she improved her Israeli record in the 200-meter individual medley, swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko on Sunday night also improved her Israeli record in the double distance, in the prestigious Mare Nostrum Swim Tour held in Canet-en-Roussillon.
In addition to setting a record, Gorbenko won the gold medal in the 400-individual medley with a time of 4:36.95 minutes. The Israeli swimmer shaved 41 hundredths of a second off her previous record (4:37.36 minutes) set about three months ago when she won the silver medal at the World Championships in Qatar. Japan's Mio Narita finished second with 4:38.23 minutes and Japan's Waka Kobori third with 4:38.38 minutes.
David Gerchik finished fourth in the 200-meter backstroke final with 2:00.26 minutes and sixth in the 100-meter backstroke final with 55.64 seconds. Daria Golovaty finished second in the B final (10th overall) for the 200-meter freestyle with 2:00.63 minutes.
