It's official! The DC Cinematic Universe is starting over with the highly anticipated film "Superman," scheduled to hit theaters in July 2025. On Thursday, the first trailer for the ambitious vision of James Gunn ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), who took on the challenging task and even wrote the script himself, was revealed.
Watch the trailer:
Superman is undoubtedly the most famous superhero, so the expectations and responsibilities placed on Gunn's shoulders are almost impossible, but he managed to build a promising cast and, at least according to the trailer, there is a noticeable change compared to Zack Snyder's films that came before it.

The prestigious role goes to David Corenswet (“Hollywood,” “Twisters”), who will don the Man of Steel cape, and will star alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult will try to step into the shoes of supervillain Lex Luthor, and at the same time we are expected to meet quite a few new and less familiar heroes to those who are not familiar with the comic book plot, including Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Mister Terrific, and even another version of Green Lantern, played by the beloved Nathan Fillion.
Not much is known about the plot, but the trailer promises quite a bit of action alongside drama, and we'll even meet Superman's dog, Krypto.
The film will hit the big screen in July 2025, and in the meantime we can wait patiently - and maybe watch the trailer a few more times.
