Two and a half weeks after the murderous stabbing spree in the city of Southport in England which claimed the lives of two children who were participating in a dance workshop to her songs, Taylor Swift met with some of the girls who were present at the event and whose lives were saved.
In a video shared on Tiktok by one of the mothers of the girls who survived the incident, there are pictures of the two girls next to Swift, one of the girls with a bandaged hand. "You drew stars around my scars," the mother wrote, quoting the lyrics to one of Swift's songs. "The biggest thank you to @Taylor Swift and her mum for making the most magical night possible for us all - thank you for bringing Hope & Autumn pure happiness last night & always." The meeting took place at Wembley Stadium in London during her latest concert tour stop.
While at this time it is not clear how many of the survivors the singer has met, it was previously reported on the music website NME that the singer "contacted the families of the victims of the attack in Southport" even before returning to the London concert tour.
During the stabbing spree that took place during a dance workshop, two children were murdered and at least 11 people were injured. "The horror of the attack that took place in Southport is overwhelming me constantly, and I am in absolute shock," the singer wrote in a heartfelt Instagram story. "The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders,” Swift added. “These were just little kids at a dance class. I don't know how to convey my condolences to those families."
The workshop was held in a community center where yoga workshops, bracelet making workshops and a dance workshop to the sounds of Taylor Swift's songs were held. The workshops were intended for boys and girls aged six to 11, and at the time of the event there were about 25 children.
Swift returned to the second part of her concert tour in London, after canceling the three concerts that were supposed to take place in Vienna, due to fear of an ISIS attack. As of this time, almost two weeks later, the singer has not yet responded to the cancellation of the performances.
