Israeli rocker Aviv Geffen says detained by LAPD for holding hostage sign

Singer says removed from David Gilmour concert in Los Angeles and briefly detained by police after holding up sign calling for release of hostages held by Hamas

Israeli rocker Aviv Geffen, currently on his own U.S. tour, was escorted out of a David Gilmour concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles after he held up a sign calling for the release of hostages held by Hamas.
The Israeli singer, who was once a prominent voice of the peace movement, says he created a sign reading "Wish they were here" in a nod to the classic Pink Floyd song.

"I held up the sign for the hostages. The police asked me why I was holding it up, and I explained that I'm from Israel and it’s for the hostages," Geffen said. "They asked me to put it down, and I refused."
Geffen says he was then escorted outside the venue, where he was briefly detained and released a short time later.
The Los Angeles Police Department has yet to issue an official statement on the incident. The Hollywood Bowl declined to comment on the matter.
