Ingredients:
- 1 Kugelhopf pan or 2 English cake pans
- 385 grams of flour (2 and 3/4 cups)
- 1 packet of baking powder (10 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 300 grams of sugar (1.5 cups)
- 4 large eggs
- 180 ml of canola oil (3/4 cup)
- 120 ml of tahini (1/2 cup)
- 60 ml of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced into small cubes
- 150 grams of halva, crumbled or chopped into small pieces
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 170°C (338°F). If using a Kugelhopf pan, grease it lightly with butter and dust it with flour to prevent sticking.
2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
3. In another bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, canola oil, tahini, lemon juice and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently add and fold in the diced apples and crumbled halva.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan(s) and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out with a few moist crumbs (about 50 minutes for a Kugelhopf pan or about 25 minutes for English cake pans).
