Israeli actress Maya Wertheimer gives birth to second child

Wertheimer and her husband Asaf Zamir welcome a son into the world as the couple's second child; 'We were part of a true miracle'

Bar Zaga|
Israeli actress Maya Wertheimer and her husband former Israeli consul general in New York Asaf Zamir, have welcomed their second child, a sweet little brother for their four-year-old daughter Asia.
"It takes a special talent to sum up significant life moments in just a few words, and as we all know, I don't have it, but I'll try: it was crazy, and it happened on 14.8.24 at 00:40," Wertheimer wrote. "We were part of a true miracle. We have a dreamy little baby, redheaded like Asia, weighing 3.615 kg. We're all healthy and happy.

"I was amazing during the birth because that's my thing, and Asaf managed to cut the umbilical cord, because that's his thing. Welcome, our miracle child. You're the rainbow after a storm. We've waited for you for so many years, and you've come and lit up everything with love and peace. Thank you for choosing us in this lifetime, we love you," she added.
In July 2023, Wertheimer bravely shared that she had experienced a miscarriage after a long and exhausting period of fertility treatments. "I'm holding a small Book of Psalms in my pocket, clutching it, praying over and over.

"The screen is in front of my eyes, everything's there, our beautiful growing embryo, the uterus, but that flickering movement, the tiny beating heart inside me — it doesn't move. Silence. Such awful silence. Silence that’s clear to all of us," she wrote.
This March, the joyful news arrived — Wertheimer and Zamir shared they were expecting a second child. The actress posted a humorous photo of herself leaning over a toilet bowl, while Zamir and Asia looked on in amazement at the camera. "Asia's going to be a big sister, thank you, Dad," the star wrote.
