Israeli drama show 'Bad Boy' snapped up by Netflix

Having seen its premiere at the Toronto Festival, the show tells of a juvenile delinquent set to become a comedian; It will now be available for viewing on the world's largest streaming service

The Israeli drama series "Bad Boy" has been picked up by Netflix and is set to stream in approximately 190 countries, as announced on Tuesday by HOT broadcasting network.

Directed by Hagar Ben-Asher and created by Ron Leshem, who also brought us "Euphoria," the original Israeli version that inspired HBO's hit series, "Bad Boy" draws its storyline from the life of comedian Daniel Chen.

Chen not only stars in the series but also contributes as part of the writing team. The plot follows Dean Scheinman (played by Guy Menschter), who finds himself in a juvenile detention center and is destined to become a successful comedian.

Having premiered at the Toronto Festival last year, "Bad Boy" just aired last week on HOT and has been acquired by Netflix. It’s slated to become available in about 190 countries during 2025, following its initial broadcast in Israel. SIPUR, the production company behind the series, successfully negotiated the deal with the streaming giant.
