Israel secured the 15th rank based on their performance at the World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, last July, completing the race in 3 minutes and 47.76 seconds. None of the teams in the morning races surpassed Israel's time or qualified for the final, ensuring Israel's place in the event.
This marks the second delegation from Israel to secure their participation in the Paris Olympics, following the men's 4x100m freestyle relay team, who secured their spot at the beginning of the championships. Earlier today, Dnis Loktev finished 32nd out of 108 participants in the 100m freestyle preliminary race, completing it in 49.50 seconds.
This was Loktev's final race in the championships, and he will now return to the United States to take part in the regional college championships next week.
