Prince William celebrated his 42nd birthday on Friday and celebrated by seeing the live performance of popular songstress Taylor Swift herself.
After hours of rumors and speculation saying William had attended Swift's concert at Wembley Stadium with his children, they were confirmed when Swift shared her photo with the heir to the throne and two of his children - Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 9. "Thank you, Taylor Swift, for a great evening," the princes of Wales wrote on his royal Instagram page alongside a picture of the singer and the three heirs.
Swift also posted a photo with the royals and her proud partner Travis Classy, who joined her in the crowd.
One of the 90,000 attendees at the star's show managed to catch Prince William nodding along to the tune of "Shake It Off" – exactly like one of Taylor's backup dancers. William’s video has garnered over 1.5 million views and 59,000 shares at the time of writing.
Unfortunately, 6-year-old Prince Louis, who could have easily stolen the show, remained at home with his mother, Princess Kate Middleton.
This isn't William and Swift’s first meeting between. The two shared the same stage at Kensington Palace in 2013, where they united for a charity event and sang "Livin' On A Prayer" with Jon Bon Jovi.
“To this day, I still do not know what came over me,” the prince recalled in an interview in 2021. “Honestly, even now I’m cringing at what happened next, and I don’t understand why I gave in. But, frankly, if Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm, and says, ‘Come with me…’ I got up like a puppy and went, ‘Yeah, okay, that seems like a great idea. I’ll follow you,”
He added, “I walked up on stage in a trance, and then sort of halfway through Jon Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ song, I wake up, and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Am I standing on the stage singing…when I don’t even know the words?’”
