According to Gianluca Di Marzio, who specializes in agreements to transfer soccer players, the Bavarians have taken a significant step by officially submitting a bid of €4.5 million to acquire the 23-year-old Israeli talent.
Since being given his chance in the first team in 2020, Peretz has been seen as a standout player for Israeli powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv. Having progressed through the ranks, he gained valuable experience during a year-long loan away from the Bloomfield Stadium before making his mark with the Tel Aviv giants.
In a remarkable journey, Peretz has amassed an impressive tally of 100 appearances for the perennial Israeli champions, showcasing his skills as he kept an astounding 43 clean sheets.
What also makes Peretz a suitable choice is that he has a German passport, and "would be a keeper who could develop at Bayern but not claim games right away. His name is therefore highly valued internally," the German tabloid Bild said.
Peretz was also part of Israel's under-21 national historic run to the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship semi-finals. The Israeli goalie kept two clean sheets in four appearances during the tournament while maintaining an average rating of 7.3.
In the hunt for a fresh backup goalkeeper following Yann Sommer's departure to Inter Milan, Bayern has cast its gaze toward Peretz, who is regarded as a promising prospect by the Bundesliga titleholders, the young talent might soon find himself showcasing his skills in the German top flight as the transfer window draws to a close.
