Singer-songwriter and social media influencer Montana Tucker paid a visit to the Shalva National Center in Jerusalem on Monday, ahead of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Known for her advocacy for Israel and efforts to combat antisemitism, Tucker used the visit to highlight Shalva’s transformative work in supporting individuals with disabilities and their families.
"Truly, in all my years of doing entertainment and being in the entertainment industry, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some remarkable people with disabilities, and especially today," Tucker said, "and they are just the happiest, most loving human beings in the world. And they are so, so, so, so special. And I am so lucky that today we got to dance together.”
Tucker has faced significant personal and professional challenges, as her outspoken support for Israel has come at a steep cost. She has faced backlash on social media, including hateful comments and personal attacks, as well as professional risks, as some collaborators and brands have distanced themselves due to her stance.
Raised in a family with deep Jewish roots, Tucker has been an outspoken supporter of Israel, often using her platform to share its vibrant culture and resilient spirit. In recent years, she has dedicated significant efforts to educating her audience about the realities of antisemitism and the importance of solidarity with Jewish communities worldwide.
At the Shalva Center, Montana was warmly welcomed by staff, volunteers and children, all of whom were eager to share the transformative work of the organization. Shalva, which provides comprehensive services to individuals with disabilities and their families, is internationally renowned for its inclusive approach and groundbreaking programs.
