With the Jewish New Year, or Rosh Hashanah, fast approaching, Israel has started summing up the past 12 months and how they fared when it comes to all aspects of our lives, including music.
The Society of Authors, Composers, and Music Publishers revealed Tuesday the list of 20 song, played the most on the Israeli radio, according to the AccumOnAir system data.
The most played song was "Lech Lishon" or "Go to Sleep" by pop starlet Anna Zak, while Israeli pop duo Static & Ben El, which recently announced their breakup, took the second spot thanks to their collaboration with 2018 Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai on a song called "Efes Maaamatz" or "Zero Effort".
"One in a Million" by Lior Narkis landed in the third spot on the list. The fourth place was taken by Noa Kirel and Dj Itay Galo's smash hit "Paamon" or "Bell".
The fifth spot was taken by another duo, Avraham Tal and Benaia Barabi with "Who Will Not Come," which make the list despite being released last year.
In the second half of the top ten, there is Omer Adam with "Half Crazy" - coming in sixth. "Sibat Hasibot" or "The Reason of All Reasons" by Ishay Ribo, which took last year's third place, was ranked seventh. Agam Buhbut and Shahar Saul with "Duvshaniya" and "I Came to Rescue You" ranked eighth and ninth respectively. Idan Raichel with "Even Al Even" closed the top 10.
Compared to last year, when only one songstress reached the top 10 - Yuval Dayan - this year saw with no less than five female singers in the top 10 and six in the entire top 20 .
Another interesting detail is Israeli left icon, Aviv Geffen was the oldest artist on the list at 49. Beside him, there are only four other singers on the list that crossed the threshold of 40 years old: Idan Raichel, Avraham Tal, Lior Narkis, and songstress Narkis.
