It now seems the UK’s King Charles' consultation with spiritual leaders regarding his estrangement from his son Prince Harry and the advice he received to renew their relationship didn’t sit well with his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, who decided to prevent the two from meeting.
On Monday, Prince Harry arrived in London for a series of charity events and even presented an award at the WellChild ceremony. Harry attended alone, without the support of his wife Meghan Markle.
Despite the tension and challenges accompanying his return to London, Harry walked with confidence, according to body language expert Judi James. “His speech shows body language rituals of a humble approach, with his shoulders and head lowered at the start as his hands hold onto the lectern, and passion part way through as he voices his respect for the parents and their children, pushing his clasped hands in toward his lower ribs in a juddering ritual.”
“Harry’s gestures are all about respect for this audience and he steps back from the lectern to clasp his hands together when he speaks about ‘You little legends’,” She added.
Nevertheless, despite maintaining his composure, Harry was once again faced with rejection from his family. This time, the blame can be placed on his stepmother Camilla, who refused to allow Charles to meet with him.
"Camilla has reportedly advised her cancer-stricken husband to steer clear of his younger son this time around in an effort to avoid unnecessary stress during his health battle," a source close to the Queen told The Daily Beast. "[Camilla] has been the principal voice urging Charles to slow down and take things easy. The last thing she wants him to do is to get stressed out over a meeting with Harry.”
Another source close to Camilla added, "The king has an instinctive impulse toward Christian reconciliation, and his cancer diagnosis has only sharpened that. He wants this settled, not just because he loves both his sons, but because it has been so destabilizing for the monarchy.”
The last time Harry met his father was in February, shortly after learning about Charles' cancer diagnosis. Their meeting lasted just under an hour, after which Harry returned to the United States. Harry has since made several more visits to London, but none of his family members have met with him.
However, a moment of hope for reconciliation was seen in September when Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday and his family members wished him well on social media.
