As teasers for the third season of "And Just Like That…", the sequel to "Sex and the City," was released Tuesday, fans quickly noticed actress Cynthia Nixon wearing a shirt featuring the Palestinian flag.
The promotional video shared on the official social media channels for the series and HBO’s Max opens with brief commentary from the cast before transitioning into a trailer for the upcoming season. There, Nixon—who plays Miranda—is seen wearing a shirt adorned with a red triangle alongside the black, green and white colors of the Palestinian flag.
Nixon is known as one of Hollywood’s most outspoken supporters of the Palestinian cause. In November 2023, she joined other left-wing activists outside the White House for a protest demanding a permanent cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. During the demonstration, which included a hunger strike, she held a sign reading, “Biden, you’re starving Gaza. Permanent cease-fire now!”

“Israel has killed far more civilians in seven weeks than were killed during 20 years of war in Afghanistan,” Nixon said at the time, identifying herself as “a mother of Jewish children whose grandparents are Holocaust survivors.”
Two months later, during the hearings at the International Court of Justice at The Hague, Nixon was among 25 actors who appeared in videos supporting South Africa’s legal case against Israel. In the campaign—also featuring stars like Susan Sarandon and Charles Dance—the actors read excerpts from South Africa’s submission to the International Court of Justice directly to the camera.
