Israeli singer and 2024 Eurovision representative Eden Golan was involved in a car accident last week while leaving her home in Tel Aviv for a family dinner.
Golan had just started driving her new car when the steering wheel stopped responding as she reached a turn, causing her to veer off course and crash into a nearby parked car.
Golan sustained a minor leg injury from the impact. The accident blocked the narrow street, causing a traffic jam, but a passing police patrol vehicle quickly arrived to assist. The officers calmed Golan down and arranged for her car to be towed away.
Golan's parents, who were nearby, also arrived at the scene to support their daughter. The car she collided with suffered only slight damage due to her slow driving speed.
In a statement, Golan's agency said, "Accidents are always frightening, but Eden is fine now. Fortunately, it wasn't a major accident, and she was wearing her seatbelt."
Golan ranked fifth in the recent Eurovision Song Contest held in May with the song Hurricane, scoring 375 points — 52 from the judges and 323 from the public.
