For an entire generation that grew up on 1990s pop music, the upcoming concert of legendary pop bands might be an event of a lifetime.
Aqua, Dr. Alban, 2 Unlimited, Sonique and 5ive are among 90s top pop bands who are going to perform at Expo Tel Aviv on January 5 as part of the We Are The 90s festival. Tickets will start at 299 NIS, said the organizers.
Aqua set to be one of the biggest names in the line-up, having retained their popularity somewhat thanks to their 90s smash hit "Barbie Girl." Aqua are widely regarded as the most popular Danish band of all time.
British singer and DJ Sonique will take the stage likely to perform her top hits "It Feels So Good" and "Sky." Her latest album, "Good Vibrations," was released in 2011.
Swedish-Nigerian musician Dr. Alban, born Alban Uzoma Nwapa, who rocked dancefloors around the globe with hits such as "Sing Hallelujah!" and "It's My Life," will also be coming to rock the stage.
Belgian-Dutch Eurodance band 2 Unlimited, founded by Belgian producers/songwriters Jean-Paul De Coster and Phil Wilde in 1991 in Antwerp, will also take the stage.
London-based British boyband 5ive, who made teenage girls swoon with hits such as "When the Lights Go Out" and "Don't Wanna Let You Go," will also make an appearance. The group has sold over 20 million singles and albums worldwide.
