Last weekend, Prince William cleared his busy schedule to watch England play against Switzerland. After a grueling 120 minutes, England triumphed in penalties. William, fully invested in the game, didn't let his royal title stop him from showing emotions throughout the game.
The prince's facial expressions drew worldwide attention. It's a rare occasion that a future king would forget even for a moment that all cameras are on him. But for us, who follow every snippet of royal life, it's normal to see the royal family in their less regal moments, and now is the perfect time to recall some of their most iconic and amusing moments. In February 2019, Duchess Kate Middleton joined her husband, Prince William, on a royal tour of Northern Ireland. During a visit to the Empire Music Hall Belfast, Middleton volunteered to pour a pint of beer, and the resulting expressions were wonderful.
Who among us hasn't experienced trying to stifle yawns at events, while all eyes are on us? It's an unpleasant moment that often leads to strange faces—ask Middleton, who struggled to suppress yawns during the Trooping The Colour events in 2014.
Unlike Kate, Prince William doesn't believe in stifling yawns, nor do his children, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte have been caught on camera numerous times mid-yawn.
Speaking of Prince Louis, we must acknowledge the honor bestowed upon him for winning over the hearts of the entire world during Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee in 2022, delivering a sequence of hilarious and cheeky expressions to the camera. And not just Louis. His older siblings have also been caught in many amusing moments. One of them was at the Trooping The Colour event in 2022, when the noise of the planes was unbearable for them.
In recent years, Charlotte has taken on the role of a little boss. She's always nudging her brothers, reminding them what they should do, always in control. But just before she changed her status to responsible sister, a particularly iconic moment of hers was caught on camera in August 2019, when she joined her parents to watch the royal sailing competition and, when asked by her mother to wave to the many spectators who came to see the royal family, Charlotte decided to swap the wave for sticking out he tongue cheekily.
Middleton, who couldn't contain herself before the little princess, burst into laughter, and the reactions didn't take long to come. "Charlotte is just a child after all, she reacted like all children do, and it was wonderful," said a British citizen to the Daily Mail, adding: "Kate's reaction was simply extraordinary."

Prince Harry was not happy to be there

Prince Harry has long been out of the royal family, neither in terms of title nor socially—and he's well aware of it. In May 2023, he was requested—not to say required—by his father, King Charles III, to attend his coronation ceremony in London. Harry did indeed come alone and showed his contempt.
