The King of England is in good spirits - but is struggling with the fact that his recovery takes time. his nephew Peter Phillips, Princess Anne's son told Australian television in an interview.
Princess Kate Middleton has remained in the headlines in recent months, with news sites worldwide closely following her health to the point that King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis seems to have been forgotten.
"I think ultimately he's hugely frustrated. He's frustrated that he can't get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. But he is very pragmatic, he understands that there's a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself. But at the same time he is always pushing his staff and everybody - his doctors and nurses - to be able to say 'actually can I do this, can I do that?'" he told the news outlet.
Almost two months have passed since King Charles was diagnosed with cancer. unlike his daughter-in-law, King Charles revealed his diagnosis immediately but didn’t disclose the type of cancer he was suffering from.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said the king would not participate in public events but would continue to deal with internal palatial matters and hold meetings at the palace. "I think the overriding message would be that he's obviously very keen to get back to a form of normality and is probably frustrated that recovery is taking a little longer than probably he would want it to."
Immediately following the Princess of Wales’s public announcement that she was diagnosed with cancer and began chemotherapy treatment, Buckingham Palace issued a statement from King Charles, saying he was "So proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did.”
It was also revealed that on Thursday, the day before the video was released, the king arrived at Windsor to have lunch with the princess. Sources close to the royals said that the meal lasted for several hours.
" They are very close and he thinks of Catherine as his daughter," a source said. "There is no doubt there is a lot they can share and can use each other for support during their own deeply personal cancer battles. The King left his lunch feeling very emotional.”
