The first to photograph the Hamas attack on Israel was Ynet photographer Roy Edan, who was murdered by Hamas terrorists with his wife Samadar Kfar Aza, moments after the start of Hamas' invasion. With the outbreak of war, he left his home in Kfar Aza, adjacent to the Gaza Strip and managed to photograph the terrorist paragliders who penetrated his kibbutz before murdering him. A few days ago, Edan also was awarded the Israeli Journalism Institute Prize. Other prize recipients included several reporters and photographers from Israeli news outlets and channels.
