The English rock band Suede announced Thursday it will perform in Israel in the summer of 2023, staging a single show in Tel Aviv.
Suede, dubbed "The Best New Band in Britain" by British music magazine Melody Maker, is set to perform at the Menora Mivtachim Arena on June 15. Ticket prices will range from 299 NIS to 899 NIS.
The rock band formed in London in 1989 by singer Brett Anderson, guitarist Justine Frischmann, and bass player Mat Osman.
Their first album, Suede, came out in 1993 and won a Mercury Prize - an annual music prize awarded for the best album released in the United Kingdom. The band has released four albums since. In 2002, the band announced their break-up, with each member continuing to pursue individual projects for years afterward.
In 2010, the band reunited and embarked on an international tour. Since then, the band has released another five albums, becoming one of the most influential bands in the UK. While the band has gone through many transitions throughout the years, Anderson has remained its frontman, while Osman is still the bassist.
The upcoming world tour is meant to support the rockers' new album Autofiction, which dropped in September.
Suede performed in Israel for the first time the 1990s, and the band has visited the Holy Land several times since then, with the last performance staged in September 2019.
