Cold wave "Coral" is approaching its peak, and there is still a chance for Jerusalem residents to enjoy some snow: On Sunday, it will be particularly chilly, with drizzle to light local rain possible from northern Israel to the northern Negev. In the mountains, snow may fall, and during daytime, it is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy. Snowfall and forecast

On Friday, light snow fell in the Bania Lookout in the Upper Galilee, Society for the. The forecast for the coming days predicts low temperatures that will continue to drop, with frost expected on the night between Sunday and Monday. However, there will be almost no precipitation, and therefore no snow accumulation is expected in the mountains of either northern or central Israel. The director of the Meteorological Service, Dr. Amir Givati, said that in the West Bank and the Jerusalem mountains, a thin layer of snow may form, mainly early Monday morning or during Monday morning hours. In the past 24 hours, precipitation levels have been low, amounting to only a few millimeters, except in the West Bank and the northern Negev, where 10 to 15 millimeters of rain fell over the last day. In the northern Golan Heights and the Galilee mountains, light snow fell on Saturday at altitudes above 700 meters, but apart from a thin layer, it did not accumulate on the ground. Last evening, snow fell in Beit Jann, Mount Meron, and Safed.

On Sunday exceptionally cold temperatures are forecast to continue, with light local rain expected from northern Israel to the Negev until the afternoon. Light snow is expected in the mountains. During the day, it will be partly cloudy, and at night, there is a risk of frost in vulnerable areas.
