Israeli meteorologists reported Wednesday that this winter is shaping up to be the driest in 25 years.
The weather forecast remains partly cloudy, with mild temperatures expected to hold steady.
Local rains are forecasted for Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms in central Israel that may persist into the night.
Northern Israel is predicted to receive only 10 mm (0.4 inches) of rainfall, marking a significant decrease compared to previous years.
No additional significant rain is expected in the coming days, and multiple regions across Israel are experiencing a growing rainfall deficit compared to the multi-year average.
In Jerusalem and the surrounding valleys, this season marks the driest start to the rainy season since 1998, with only about one-third of the typical rainfall recorded so far.
Looking ahead to the weekend, local rain is expected in central Israel, accompanied by strong easterly winds. Temperatures will rise on Friday before dropping on Saturday, starting in northern mountainous areas and moving southward toward central Israel.
