Over 500 people attended an international conference on the use of AI to advance medicine, held last week at the Weizmann Institute for Science, including doctors, hospital administrators, university presidents, academicians, researchers, tech professionals and senior executives in the high-tech industry.
The conference hosted by Lemaanchem, a non-profit providing medical counseling to patients and their families and included panels and lectures on the practical applications of AI already used in the medical field and those in development, that aim to improve diagnosis and personalized medicine as well as medical research.
Among participants were the CEOs and senior executives from Google, Microsoft, Checkpoint and Mobileye.
"This is the first time among the most senior executives and entrepreneurs in the field of AI from Israel and abroad, share the stage with senior members of the medical system and those working in the field, to advance AI applications in support of decision making," said Lemaanchem CEO Yossi Erblich.
"Our organization established as a non-profit in 2017, aims to provide professional medical counseling and guidance to all, regardless of religion, race or gender at times of need, and AI products constitute a breakthrough in this critical field to save lives, prolong life and improve quality of life."
A focal point of the conference was presenting a new definition of medical services using AI including a demonstration of how AI is applied in a panel chaired by Dr. Gadi Neumann, VP of Lemaanchem.
