Skydiving is not just a sport – it’s a way of life, says 27-year-old Israeli influencer Mary Praglin. "The feeling of flying through the air and seeing the stunning view below is powerful – it's unlike anything else." With more than 63,000 followers on Instagram, Mary divides her time between daring skydiving jumps and wild raves.
"I started skydiving to overcome my fears," she said. "Each jump challenges me to face my fears and discover new things about myself."
Originally from Nesher in northern Israel, now living in Bat Yam, Mary decided to confront her fear of heights head-on. "On the first day of my skydiving course, I stood at the edge of the plane, pushing the fear aside. When I jumped, everything changed. Since then, my life hasn’t been the same, and I intend to keep jumping—it’s my passion."
Mary often combines her love for skydiving with dancing at the best raves in the world. "One of my most memorable trips was to Portugal, where I combined skydiving with a trance festival," she said. "I jumped over the Atlantic Ocean, and the view was breathtaking. Before that, I attended the festival, and the music and atmosphere were electrifying. It was a perfect blend of freedom—I felt like I was living the dream."
One of her boldest stunts included a skydive in her birthday suit. "It was an incredibly liberating experience," she shared. With over 200 jumps, a few of which were in minimal clothing, she explained, "It was a moment when I felt I was freeing myself from all limitations. The freedom was absolute—just me, the wind and the earth. It wasn't as painful as I had feared, and the sensation of the wind on my skin was unforgettable. This experience opened new doors for me in life. Skydiving isn’t just physical; it’s also a mental challenge."
Alongside the physical and emotional challenges, Mary enjoys strong family support. "My dad always encourages me," she said. "He used to skydive, so he understands the adrenaline and feelings I experience. He always tells me I’m doing amazing things and that I should keep trying new things. His understanding from his own experience helps me feel more confident in my decisions."
Skydiving is an adrenaline addiction that comes with significant risks. Mary’s dream is to complete hundreds of jumps and acquire the necessary certifications to become a skydiving instructor. "There aren’t many women instructors in Israel," she noted. "I feel I have an important role in helping women who are hesitant and showing them they can do it too. I want to make this experience accessible and support women who want to face their fears."
Mary believes skydiving is empowering for women. "Many women are afraid to face challenges like these, but I believe it’s very empowering," she said. "When you jump out of a plane, you’re confronting your fears, and that brings a sense of self-power. It also sends an important message—that women can do anything. I want to be part of this process and encourage more women to take bold steps in their lives."
"Every jump is a personal journey, and every fear I face is a chance to grow and evolve. Skydiving has taught me a lot about myself. When you jump, you’re also dealing with your thoughts and experiences. You push your limits."
"I want to help others experience the amazing sensations skydiving offers and see how it can change lives. That’s exactly what I want—to touch people’s lives, share my experiences, and help them discover the freedom in skydiving."
