Roadworks on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway will block the entrance to cars arriving at the Ben Gurion International Airport from Jerusalem as of Thursday evening, at 10 PM and until Friday at 6 AM.
Cars will be able to enter the airport only via Route 40 for the duration of the works," Airport Authority officials said. Cars leaving the airfield and heading to Tel Aviv will also be diverted to Route 40. The Authority urges those using the airport during those hours, to arrive by public transportation.
Approximately 65,800 passengers are expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport on Thursday in 400 international flights arriving and departing – a record number since the beginning of the war. About 34,800 passengers will depart on international flights today, and about 31,000 people will enter Israel.
The Airports Authority urges the public to check in from home and arrive at the airport three hours before their flight. Additionally, hand luggage should be carefully checked to ensure it does not contain prohibited items such as weapons or ammunition.
