When embarking on a vacation in Tuscany, it's hard not to succumb to the allure of the stunning landscapes, charming villages and delectable cuisine of this romantic Italian region. While the magic of Tuscany speaks for itself, for those seeking an elevated experience, the upcoming launch of the five-star Precise Tale Poggio Alla Sala resort hotel is set to offer a luxurious getaway. During our visit, we couldn't help but notice the presence of multiple Ferraris parked in front of the hotel, a testament to its grandeur.
Nestled in the enchanting medieval town of Montepulciano, the hotel is situated on the historic grounds of an ancient mansion. As we made our way to the location, we were captivated by the breathtaking vistas, a landscape made up of lush shades of green, with charming houses dotting the flower-clad hills. It felt as though our surroundings had suddenly transitioned into a vivid 4K experience.
Passing through the grand estate gate, we followed a tree-lined driveway that led us to the expansive resort grounds. The surroundings boast spacious lawns, an outdoor pool that was practically begging us to put on our Speedos and jump in, and buildings showcasing a harmonious blend of rustic Tuscan design, seamlessly merging the old and the new.
The central building, once a private villa for the estate's owners, now houses the restaurant and reception area. Adjacent buildings, originally used by the estate's farmers, had been transformed into a spa, a gym and a residential structure housing the majority of the hotel rooms. A restored ancient well graces the front of the building, a nostalgic reminder of the estate's original inhabitants.
Israeli businessman and hotelier Ron Ben Haim, the founder of Precise Hotels & Resorts in 2005, is the proud owner of the hotel. With a portfolio of 18 hotels and resorts across Europe, Ben Haim has assembled a proficient construction team, primarily consisting of Israelis, who join him in the establishment of each new hotel.
"It was important for us to preserve the local culture and the charm that the area has to offer," emphasized Tomer Shabi, VP of business development for the Precise hotel chain. Its design showcases meticulous attention to detail, featuring wall paintings, engravings, terracotta floors and picturesque arched windows.
Notably, the restaurant area boasts an impressive high ceiling interspersed with arches and intricate wall paintings, meticulously restored to its original splendor. Spanning over 370,000 square feet, the resort encompasses five buildings housing 71 suites and rooms. The rooms not only offer luxurious comfort but also showcase a commitment to quality, evident in the cloud-soft towels and exquisite mosaic tiles in the bathrooms.
"We put emphasis on the raw materials and chose the highest quality to create a truly luxurious experience," Shabi added.
The hotel offers a lavish breakfast spread, which subtly incorporates Israeli influences alongside classic European breakfast options. The hotel's restaurant, renowned for its culinary expertise, provides lunch and dinner options at an extra cost.
Within the hotel premises, there is a luxurious spa facility that provides a range of body and facial treatments at an additional cost. The spa features amenities such as a heated indoor pool, dry and wet saunas, and a rejuvenating jet shower. Furthermore, the resort boasts three outdoor pools, with one exclusively reserved for adult guests. For fitness enthusiasts, a state-of-the-art gym with panoramic views of the surrounding nature, along with a tennis court, is set to open soon, offering a full workout experience.
To enhance the sense of luxury and prestige, the hotel provides guests with scooter transportation between various locations, adding to the overall experience. The exceptional level of service further contributes to this ambiance, occasionally reaching a level that some may find amusing, such as the spa receptionist personally presenting a variety of massage oils for guests to select from, making it crystal clear that attention to detail is of paramount importance for them.
Located just a short ten-minute drive from the hotel, the Bindella – Tenuta Vallocaia winery awaits, a magnificent and expansive establishment owned by a passionate Swiss entrepreneur who has beautifully united his three passions: wine, nature and art. Visitors have the opportunity to embark on a captivating winery tour, savor exquisite wines, immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring natural surroundings, and marvel at the art pieces thoughtfully displayed throughout the premises.
Yes, there's a reason Italy is known as the Mecca of wineries.
